Comin back soon.

Postby oldskool on Wed Mar 10, 2010 12:59 pm

Whats up all, old skooler here. started on the scene in '86 wich for us mazda fans was a very good year. Owned several trucks over the years and my last one was a cab+ with a standard cab bed body dropped on white ronal r-9 wheels. started getting out of the scene around 94 when I sold my last truck and got married ect.

lately Ive been getting the itch to build another one and came across this site, plans are for another cab plus with a standard cab bed, 4x4 metal, and all the usual. gonna build it with some old skool style mixed in with some modern touches.

i gotta host the pics to post em up or if someone can put them up for me....

anyway, feels good to be back, lookin for a truck and the sheetmetal so let me know if any one has any for sale...

Im in So. Cal. Corona to be exact.

I used to run a shop called Trendsetter back in the day.

I have found a few out around here but they are usually pretty hammered. 4X4 parts are scarce...

Tim,
Surf Craigslist. Almost every week there is one for sale. 4X4 sheet metal is harder to come by these days, but I have seen a few of the 4x trucks sell for cheap.

This guy re-posts this every month or so. I bet you could get it for much less than he is asking.

BTW I am an old guy too. I remember hanging out at the Carl's Jr /Scam-a-lot around the corner from Trendsetters and have known Sean and JT forever.
Good luck. I hope more people from back then get back into it.

Nice. Im just not sure if I want a relatively stock one to build up or find one part way there since I dont have a ton of extra time with running my buisness and everything else.

The guys in the shop are looking forward to a sweet after hours project other than the cages and suspensions we do for the UTV stuff.

here is a pic of my old truck at spring splash in 90 or 91 I think...
