Postby 1HotDawg on Tue Feb 21, 2006 9:39 pm

Thought I'd finally post some recent pics of my Dawg on here. Got big plans for her...no bags...but definitely gettin a bit lower and will do some body mods, etc.

Image

[edit] I removed the super huge pic and put up an original from my cardomain site [edit]
Future plans:

Lower after removing bumpstop brackets
Drop Shox
Custom center console
Custom door panels
Some red under the hood, and some cleaning
Reroute exhaust
Tilt bed
Chrome bumper, grille, some billet in there
New sub enclosure
New buckets
Shave handles on doors
Shave antenna, emblems
Other ideas to come for sure :P

it's an 89 SE-5. Bought for $2500 w/125k miles. Runs great, though the eltric choke went out a bit ago, but it still cranks rather easy even when temps in the 20's. I've only had to replace the valve cover gasket since I've had it...cuz it leaked.

Interior was in real good shape too. It does have some hail dents on the roof and hood, but barely noticable, and I'll be getting a different hood one day anyway.

I saw your pics Wood, you gotta good one too.

Thanks for the kind words :D

Should have my new chrome bumper and grille tomorrow. Hope to have installed in the afternoon, then I'll post it up. I didn't get the "full" chrome grille, I got the one that just has the outer edges chromed, which for one I think is neat, and 2 the dude get's "factory" parts cheap as heck, so I was going with what he could get me :P Whole deal should only cost me about $40, and only a week's wait simply cuz he didn't have enough parts ordered to meet the minimum order of $75. I can't wait!

One day, after playing with the old grille, I may add some billet to it or something nice. But first I'll practice mocking up the old one :P

Update 02/27/06

Postby 1HotDawg on Mon Feb 27, 2006 10:01 am

Got my grille and bumper for $65 and got them on last night. Here's a pic, (will get a better pic soon)

Image

And, I changed the bulbs in my instrument panel to red, and I love the look! I'm getting the tach panel sometime this week to swap out, and I'm going to cut out the top where it covers the clear stuff to allow that to continue to shine through like this pic shows. I will get a night pic sometime, that's when it looks best...it's looks awesome at night!

Image

I plan on doing the gauges using the white sticker paper and creating a design that will really play off the red color.

Yeah the lights are pretty brite at night...not too brite though cuz it's sort of a soft light, but it makes a killer glow on the back of the steering wheel and on top of the column it self.

You should be able to pick up colored bulbs from your local auto parts store...I bought mine at Auto Zone. It calls for numbers 154, but they didn't have them so I got 194's instead cuz they look exactly the same :P

My original plan was to buy some of thos lil seperate LED lights, (which I did buy) and have them pointed at the gauges, but then I realized it just took the little bulbs behind it, and so I bought 8 of the colored ones, and there ya have it :o

Body is pretty good really. Just an occasional lil ding, and it has some hail damage on the hood and roof of cab. Nice lil ding above the rear window as well due to my lawn mower running into it when I hit the breaks hard :( But I'm considering graftind in/on a 3rd brake light there anyway :D
